It's been over a month since I've posted, I have 7 weeks of pictures that I haven't put up - not for any particular reason, it's just that I've been busy (work has been crazy), and life seems to just keep getting away from me.
I am trying to decide if I should just kill the blog. I know people have been saying that Ravelry was the death of knitting blogs, and I do agree, but I don't necessarily think it's a bad thing. There is so much community on Ravelry, and so much knowledge in one easy to access place, I would feel a bit lost without those resources.
I don't know if I am thinking this because it's truly time to move on or because I'm feeling guilty that I haven't had the time or inclination to keep up with posting...
What are your thoughts? Not about my blog in particular, just about losing blogging ambition, etc.
Here is week 21: Action
Another shot from the same time frame - they are sooo cute.
I totally understand about losing the "will to blog". I think nobody's reading, why bother, etc, etc. Then I remember that really I am blogging for me. It's a place for my best pictures and to see what I've been doing.
Blogging shouldn't make you feel guilty. If it's an obligation to yourself, that's one thing. I would be sad to see you go, but if it's an obligation that you're not getting anything out of, it's definitely time to reevaluate.

I don't have a blog, but I don't use Ravelry in a way that replaces my enjoyment of reading blogs. There are several that I look for consistently, yours is one, because I enjoy your pics, dogs, knitting. And most especially your storytelling!

I wax and wane when it comes to losing the will to blog, especially about knitting. But I do still use my blog for food stuff, photography stuff, etc. I think Connie above is correct, we blog for ourselves first, not our readers. I feel no guilt when I skip my blog for a month (or three) and despite my shoddy track record for consistency, folks still read it. So feel no guilt about slacking, but maybe don't delete it just yet. You might want to come back to it one day.

I miss it when some blogs slow down, but I have never felt that they had any kind of obligation to post to my schedule. You should never feel guilt because you've either needed to or chosen to slow down. Yes indeed, you blog for yourself. And sometimes you post less. But that's fine! When you're ready you post again... and here we are!
I don't think I've posted to my blog in about a year. It has just been a year where I couldn't/didn't feel like it/the camera broke/I didn't knit... always a reason. But when I'm able I will start up again (I hope). With no guilt... maybe some explanation, but not guilt.
Aww... and look at them playing! So happy! Such buddys!

Ravelry is great, but I enjoy blogs immensely. I am Ravelry impaired, but it's tough for me to understand how it would take the place of blogs. I enjoy you, your sweet puppies, and your photography...not to mention the knitting. At the same time, it is easy for me to see that blogging could be just "one more thing". You would be missed, however.

You do what you think is best. I agree with the others, I blog for me, therefore it's on my schedule.
Love doggies in action!

Blogging shouldn't be a chore... That's what I tell myself! There will be things to share and time for it, so I say blog when you are moved to do so. I have recently given up the 2-3 posts a week. I guess if you want an audience you have to be more consistent. I do it for myself.
