Saturday (why can't this ever happen on a Wednesday? I could use a snowday!) we got the second record breaking storm this year. It replaced the one in December as the second biggest snow fall...ever...here in philly. 26 or 28 or 23 inches, depending what you read, they'll come to an agreed upon number in a day or so.
Whatever it is, it's a whole darn lot of snow. Again. And again, Pixie loves it and Duke hates it.
This was at 8:30 in the morning, the snow fell for about 6 more hours.
Look at that face - he hates it!
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE let me back inside!!!
In knitting news, my friend got the shawl I made her - which was a complete surprise, even more so b/c I hate just sent her xmas present a week before, and she loved it. I love sending knitted things to people who love and appreciate them. It does make a knitter feel good about everything and provides a very satisfying sense of purpose.
I am working diligently on the Shawl that Jazz and the Mondo Cable Pulli in hopes of finishing them both before the Olympics start on Friday - we shall see.
Of course, the shawl looks like nothing but a mass of garter stitch, but there it is.
Just the collar and sleeves to go! I am a little worried I'm going to run out of yarn, this might end up being 3/4 sleeves.
I also made some good progress on my Hoover Dam sock at the autoshow on saturday. I got a few funny looks walking around knitting, but it's more amusing than anything. :-) I am pleased that I can finally walk and knit on a sock at the same time, I have tried it before (some time ago) and it didn't work. I'm not saying I could walk down the street and knit at the same time, but wandering around a display room full of cars - check.
I really love this broken garter rib pattern, it breaks the colors up just enough, but not too much, v pretty.
Oh, and also, I just HAD to make a snow angel. Had to. So much pristine snow, just hanging out all over the place...
Not a whole one, we weren't going home yet so I didn't want to get my jeans soaked... DH thought I was crazy, so he documented.
But isn't it pretty?
One more thing, and then I'm done. I went over to the Briar Rose website "just to see" what she had available and I found this gorgeous grandma's blessing.
It's a little less blue than it looks there, but still a gorgeous ocean sort of color, I have visions of a lovely shawl with wave patterning, but I don't know what yet. That's okay, since I have at least 6 project OTN that I should be working on, this can marinate in my stash until I can line it up with the perfect pattern.
Happy Superbowl Sunday! I am off to make food that is Very Bad for us indeed, and enjoy every second of it. :-)
Now, there's a challenge: to knit while walking. I'm still learning to knit while reading. Looking forward to seeing the shawl!

Snow-o-rama! Looks lovely, and it sounds like you're making the best of it. The dogs are so cute in the snow.
The Mondo Cable Pullover is looking great.1
