You know sometimes you have a cold that knocks you out and you don't know where a few weeks went? That's what I just had. I was sick, busy at work, and just trying to keep up with my life. I woke up last week and realized my house was a mess, I hadn't cooked dinner in two weeks, we had no groceries with which to cook dinner, and there were at least 8 loads of laundry that needed to be done.
But there it is, and it's over now. I didn't stop knitting during that time though, so here is a small parade of FO's.
First and most importantly: The last two christmas presents!
My Goddaughter's sweater
The same Childhood sweater as I knitted her baby brother, also in Berocco Vintage. Aren't those cat buttons the cutest?
They got a kitten this year, so she is obsessed with all things cat. And she picked out the color, much more grownup than I would have picked out for a 5 year old.
And her mother's Christmas socks
You have to love that the zauerball yarn does all the work for you.
In addition to that, in my sick haze last weekend I picked up my stora dinum shawl that I had put down at least a year ago b/c I was afraid it was going to be too small b/c I used fingering weight instead of dk weight.
Me & garter stitch got along wonderfully while I was recovering, especially since I can knit garter stitch and read my kindle. So here she is.
This is henry's attic kona fingering that I dyed myself back when I was experimenting with that sort of thing. It is perfect for around the house. It did end up smaller than the pattern said, about 80x30, I could have made it deeper if I had used blocking wires, but I just laid it out, I'm certainly not tall enough to need any more depth on the back.
Very good, I am pleased!
Also, I picked up the firmaments pi shawl that I am planning on taking to belgium with me on our trip in May as my all purpose scarf/airplane blanket/shawl and I am one repeat into the final section, the rows - 500 and change long, are going very, very slowly now.
It doesn't look very exciting, but there it is.
And I caved and ordered some sundara silky merino to make the tibetan clouds stole by sivia harding from clara parkes latest book.
I thought it was pink. It looked pink in the picture...I did want pink yarn, but this is somewhere between a dark fuschia and crimson, and it's GORGEOUS. So while I don't know if it's right for the stole, it will absolutely be right for something.
I am fighting some cast-onitis right now. It's hard not to when so many things have just come off the needles, but I still have quite a few projects in process that it would be good to get finished.
And, this week we are going to Vegas! DH has a conference out there and I am accompanying him since I have never been. So I will have a long plane ride and some down time to myself to make some serious headway on a few projects - but what to pick? That is the question. It always seems like such a good idea to take some lingering UFO so as to be forced to make progress with the theory that I will then be motivated to finish it, but it is just so tempting to cast on for something new and shiny and fun to take.
I have a few days to decide still. I am sorely tempted by a few shawls right now, I went a little nuts with some of the designers who are selling their patterns and donating money to Haiti. I bought all the things I think I will eventually knit b/c the money is going to a good cause, but now I have so many options!
That's on Ravelry, in case you didn't know about it, one of the search parameters you can choose is to search for patterns whose sales will donate to Haiti, I believe that's going on until Jan 31.
Wow, lots of FOs! Glad you are feeling better.

So many beautiful things! I love that shawl -- it's gorgeous, and with the red color, it's got to be warm, right? And that yarn from Sundara is stunning. Mmmm.... Now I want some of that, too :)
I'm glad you feel better -- keep taking care, and have fun on your trip!
