This is such a monumental project that I am giving it a post all its own.
I blocked it friday night.
It blocked out to 54" square and 72" diagonally.
I could have stretched it further, but I really didn't want it any bigger than this!
I made it to bring to work and keep at my desk to use as a wrap/lap blanket. It is SO cold in my office, it's an old building with big, old, very drafty windows and the heat just doesn't keep up. This will provide me with a welcome layer of warmth this winter!
The yarn is Little Traveller by Sanguine Gryphon, I got it at SAFF last year, the color way is England. I understand she is going to be at Stitches this weekend and I'm looking forward to getting more of her yarn! These 4 skeins were not from the same dye lot, but the blended really well over all. I used 3.5 skeins, just under 2000 yards, of light fingering weight.
To get it this large I did an extra 3-4 repeats of the center square increase rows before decreasing. Then I increased the outside border from 20 rows to 30 rows, it looked disproportionate with only 20 rows b/c the center square was larger.
This was a very long project and terribly tedious at times, but it made a good travel project over the summer and I managed to knock it off in bits here & there until I got to the edging.
Woohoo! IT'S DONE!!! And even better - I like it!!!

It's gorgeous! Congratulations.

LOL OMG This looks great! I can't believe how big it is. You didn't even have to block it that much, did you.
This will definitely keep you warm. The color suits you as well.
Take care and talk to you soon!
And give the puppies some pets for me.
