Okay. I took the patterns I mentioned in my previous post & fiddled with them a little bit & this is what I ended up with.
I haven't finished the bag yet, I am missing the cording and I wanted to use something sturdier inside, canvas or something. Maybe I can run to walmart on lunch tomorrow & see what they have, walmart should have stuff like that in their little craft section, right?
I crack myself up, I'm using lovely 100% cotton quilting fabrics for the outside and I'm gonna go to walmart to get the inside - ah well, patience (waiting until I have time to get to Joann Fabric) is a virtue I've never had.
The pink one was my first try, it came out a little short, but I'm going to finish it up anyway. My mother, when she reads this, will just l augh & shake her head b/c I never, ever have liked doing trial runs, I always try out my ideas on my 'good' stuff first (see 'patience' above). And usually, something like this happens, but not always! So I keep doing it...
So, about 4 hours, 1 needle case & three unfinished sock bags later, not bad, not bad at all.
OOH! and this came yesterday - roving for my secret pal, I got on Etsy from FatCatKnits, I don't spin, so I can't really judge what's going to work well and what won't, but it sure looks pretty to me!

Wow. What pretty colors. I'm mezmerized. Our Walmart stopped selling craft stuff. :-(

Wow, cool batik fabrics! I quilt as well as knit, too. :-)
