YAY! Rusted Root is DONE DONE DONE. And I LOVE it! It is sooo cute.
Here's the stats:
Pattern: Rusted Root from Zephyr
Yarn: 2.5 skeins of Cotton Fleece by Brown Sheep in Primrose something or other?
Size S
Time: Feb 4 - Feb 18 - it's a quick knit
Alterations: I redid the lace pattern to suit my taste, it's the same basic pattern, but I rearranged some of the ssk/k2tog so it's more of a mirror image. I also did some increasing (6 st) for the hips. I love these patterns, but I don't think these girls have hips. I wish I had decreased once or twice more for the waist, it's a bit saggy right around the waist.
The yarn will be perfect for the upcoming season, heavy enough to provide a bit of warmth, but not overwhelmingly heavy.
I'm curious to see how the cotton/merino blend will wear, I hope it has more memory than most cotton usually does. If it does, I'll be looking at this yarn for many more projects. It was lovely to knit with, it didn't split much and is quite soft.
I changed the lace pattern so the stitches always leaned towards the purl stitches in the center of the leaf. I'm sure it looks fine the way it was written, but I have a thing about symmetry, so I needed to change it.

Wow, another gorgeous sweater. You really are amazing. Here I am, trying to find an EASY pattern for my first sweater. Looks like it fits perfectly!

Hi there! Great rusted root. I am just starting this pattern, but am undecided as to what size to make?? Just wondering (if it's not to personal..) what your measurements are, since you made the small??
